this game was so amazing !!! i saw a video on tiktok telling me it had been deleted off of itch.io so i did a little research and i'm guessing all that happened was the name was changed from confession to past hope ? both titles are cool anyway, im just glad i was able to play it instead of watching the only playthrough on youtube by a streamer idk ... both mc and hoshinos characters are super interesting and i would love to just sit down and analyse them one day
SPOILERS AHEAD
i really had hope that the true ending could've possibly been another good one, but it turned out it was just a continuation of the "good" ending if i remember correctly. the true ending showed us how twisted the mc actually is. i know you said in the description that the mc is not a good person before i even played the game but i didnt expect THAT. i was convinced that it was just hoshino who was dependant on mc but the true ending opened my eyes and made me realise that mc would go to any lengths in order to keep hoshino around, they want hoshino to only ever have them therefore making them codependant. mc genuinely is incurable (even the title of said ending conveys that) and is dragging hoshino down with them, breaking him, basically ruining his life, when he tries to leave he is just forced to come back as mc is passing on the abuse they received, like an endless cycle. both of them are very tragic and i couldnt help but choose all the nicer options towards hoshino first as i felt terribly bad for him even if it was all just a lie. i really hope social media doesnt water their dynamic down to toxic or doomed because i believe they are much more than that. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!
